Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
It is my pleasure to announce the publication of “Oremus”, a new
collection of Latin prayers for devotional use (english translations
are provided).
“Oremus” has been developed from an idea to its fruition as a electronic publication, entirely through the efforts of young Catholics from the Parish of St John Henry Newman. I thank them for their splendid contribution, and am delighted to be able to launch the publication in electronic form today, the feast of St Philip Neri, whose prayer in the catacomb of St Sebastian on the Vigil of Pentecost in 1544, culminated in the miraculous entrance into his body of the Holy Spirit in the form of a ball of fire, and the permanent expansion of his heart.
May the beautiful prayers brought together in this collection, enable Christ’s faithful to open their hearts to receive anew the grace and love of the Holy Spirit.
